"Lake News is the 2nd novel that I've read after the 1st novel titled Flirting With Pete.  As expected, this novel left me breathless after reading it.  And it gets more exciting as I move on in the story. I recently learned that there was a spin-off to this book, and I'm really glad that that one (An Accidental Woman) was about Poppy Blake cause by the end of Lake News I was really thinking about Poppy and about that writer, to what happened to them, so its a good thing that there was a continuation to that.  To all avid fans of Ms.Delinsky, don't forget to grab a copy of it....."

"I seriously could not put this book down. From the moment I started reading, I had to know what happens to Lily. I find out if she got what she wanted, although she was a little unsure of what that was. In reading this book, you really see that everything happens for a reason. Things fell into place and great things came out of something so bad. I really hope there is another story about Lake Henry. I would love to find out what happens to Poppy, and with Hannah and Rose. "I have enjoyed your books for a number of years. I think this is one of the best I have read in some time. You feel like you really get to know the characters in it. I started to read it and could hardly put it down. Thank you for all the enjoyable reading over the years."

"I'm from Malaysia and I just read your Lake News and I really love your writing! It was so real with the people, the Lake Henry, and everything. You are so good. You made me feel like I am part of the Lake Henry commitee. And I really love Lily Blake and John Kipling. Also another casts on Lake News. And not to forget Poppy and Griffin. You are just so incredible! "

"Lake News was the 1st Barbara Delinsky book I read. I was 8 years old when I bought it and I have been hooked on her ever since. Lake News was great. I mean how many people in there can relate to Lily Blake?? John seems to be the best thing that could happen to Lily and he truly is. "

"I enjoyed this book so very much and applaud your stand on privacy issues. I also feel I've read Poppy's story, but can't remember what the title of the book was. (Author's note: Poppy's story is told in "An Accidental Woman.")"

"As can be said of all of Barbara Delinsky's novels, LAKE NEWS is an emotionally rich, satisfying story, providing calm spaces of healing within every enthralling storm. The good guys are engaging, absolutely loveable, and real; the bad guy are almost too real, yet their edges soften somewhat as the reader learns their history, seeing how the dark etched away and overwhelmed their natural needs to love. In LAKE NEWS I saw journalism perfectly and simply portrayed at its worst and best. I applauded that accomplishment, as I enjoyed the escape of the reading ride. "

"This book was a very moving book for me and I have read it several times in just over a week. I believe it is a story of healing within families, asking forgiveness and earning respect from those we love. This book made me look at my life and recognize that there are things that must be put right before it is to late. I love that John is portrayed as a man who is sensitive and desiring love and affection. Too often men are shown as tough, unfeeling individuals, and I think that often they are short changed for being compassionate people. Barbara makes the book come alive with her writing. As a visually impaired person, I was able to visualize the loons on the lake, smell the apples in the orchard and the cider house, and feel the emotion that was in the church for the press confrence. I felt both John and Lily's tears and anger, and also the joy when Lily was able to reconcile her relationship with her mother. I felt the pain that both John and Lily felt from the rejection of their parents, and also the fear of asking forgiveness and wanting so much to understand why they had been treated the way the were. Thanks, Barbara, for writing so that a person can look at her shortcomings and know that there is unfinished business, and for giving us the courage to realize what needs to be done in our lives. Very well written, It seems it is over before it barely begins and is impossible to put down. "

"This book really emphasizes the value of home, love, honesty, and integrity."

"The characters are endearing and so human in their misunderstandings and miscommunications. The current topic of total invasion of privacy along with the instant assumption of guilt by the media/press is so relevant today. The serenity of the setting is also a welcome basis for the story... The characters are so real, I found myself thinking about them when I was driving to work, etc. and I dreaded coming to the end of this book... Not only was this book a great read, but I feel changed as a person, for the better, from having read this book. ... thank you Barbara Delinsky for writing such a warm, contemporary, and exiciting story."

"The writing is so beautiful. The description of Lake Henry, the loons and their habits made me want to visit New Hampshire. The relationships, especially that of John and Lily, were so touching. You are an excellent storyteller."

"No graphic sex scenes. No gross violence. How did this bok make the best seller list? By being a book about values, kindness, home town, family and justice that wins out over pettiness and just basic mean-spiritedness."

"I am passionate about reading, but I have never been so caught up in a book before [as I was with LAKE NEWS]. I truly have never "felt" so much when reading. I love that you write from all perspectives. I used to only read mysteries and gothic romances, well now I'll just be reading Barbara Delinsky books."

"LAKE NEWS was one of those books that you can't put down, but don't want to end...You have the ability to address problems of our modern society without being preachy or beating the reader over the head, not to mention telling a wonderful story in the process."
