| Summary
This little non-fiction book, arranged in an easy and fun question-and-answer format, contains information about lobsters, lobstering, and lobstermen — all gathered in the course of my researching this topic for The Summer I Dared. It's such good stuff (no culinary pun intended), that I couldn't bear to just pack it away in a drawer when the novel was done. Chapters divide the material by subject matter, including the anatomy of the lobster, its history as a food source, lobstering as an occupation, the many ways lobster are eaten today, and — last but not least — the lobster's love life. Love life? Definitely. Lobsters are sexy creatures, at least where other lobsters are concerned. Read about their mating ritual, their Does A Lobsterman Wear Pants? |
